Located in one of the most privileged enclaves on the Costa del Sol, La Hacienda Links Golf Resort is an exclusive golf club that invites you to enjoy a unique experience on two spectacular, world-class courses: Links and Heathland. With a total of 36 holes, both courses have established themselves as benchmarks for golf in Europe, thanks to their design and the stunning views that surround them.
The courses share the same stretch of rolling terrain as the revered layouts at Valderrama Golf Club, San Roque New Golf Club, Sotogrande Golf Club, La Reserva and many more of top golf courses in Spain
The Links course, the only links-style course in Andalusia and one of the few in southern Spain, offers an unrivalled course by the sea, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and the African coast. Awarded ‘Best Golf Course in Spain’ at the 2023 World Golf Awards, it is a gem for lovers of authentic golf. Its exclusive Halfway House, located between holes 9 and 10, was recognised as the ‘Best Halfway House in the World’ in 2024, consolidating its status as a benchmark in luxury golf.
The Heathland Course, designed by renowned former Ryder Cup player and architect Dave Thomas, offers a challenging and diverse par-72 course. Nestled among Andalusian hills and plateaus overlooking the sea, several of its holes wind their way through a valley with large lakes and narrow fairways, offering a true technical challenge in an incomparable natural setting.
With such an incredible grouping of courses, this region of the Costa del Sol makes for a golf holiday of outstanding quality. The Hacienda Links Golf Resort is part of the international European Tour Destinations network and has received numerous awards that rank it among the most outstanding golf resorts in Europe.

The Links Course has a distinct seaside accent, which is understandable given that it was designed by the British duo of Peter Alliss and Clive Clark, and even features gorse bushes and heather. Imagine the joy of playing a Scottish-style links course, but instead of driving rain and wind you can be bathed in the Andalucian sunshine!
Recent development work has improved the overall quality of the Alcaidesa Links, making it even more of a highlight of any golfing tour to the San Roque area.
Signature Hole: Hole 5, Par 5, 467 metres (511 yards), SI 11
The 5th hole on the links is a memorable one, providing the golfer with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean to Gibraltar, and stretching even as far as Morocco.

The resort proudly unveiled its second layout, La Hacienda Heathland, in late 2007. Winding its way across the great slopes of the estate, the Heathland is the perfect foil for the Links; it is longer and more challenging for the low handicappers, demanding a good grasp of all the games facets, from accurate driving to a tight short game. In an area that already boasts a number of outstanding courses, the Heathland has squeezed in thanks to the high quality of its design, and makes your trip to Alcaidesa even more memorable.
Alcaidesa is famed for its views down the coastline towards the Rock of Gibraltar - remember your camera!
Signature Hole: Hole 14, Par 3, 185 metres (202 yards), SI 6
The par 3, 14th hole played from an elevated tee, deserves its status as signature hole for its variety of natural landscapes. These include fantastic views over the sea, as well as mountains and valley areas twisting throughout the fairway. This hole is a fantastic showcase of the wonderful surroundings which Dave Thomas was able to use to great effect when intertwining them throughout the course.

We played the links course and were lucky to be playing our round with a couple of members who were able to guide us around the course which made the round both easier and more pleasurable as some of the hotels needed great care and to be aware of traps for the unsuspecting….When compared to La Reserva, the facilities were not as good, with water facilities lacking…Overall a pleasurable experience with great views and good golf (thanks to JP and Martine who were our guides

Stuck behind two 3 balls that took us 2.45 to do 8 holes and walked off after as they had lost 5 holes. Ruined our round of golf

If the weather hadn’t been so windy and wet, I would rate the course difficulty as average but it was a very cold day. Some good scores despite, which is why I make the observation above. Clubhouse very good and pro shop expensive for a ‘tier2’ course. Two of the four buggies had a mind of their own and would stop for no reason, reprogram itself, which made it impossible to use the course planner. I did make a complaint and sent an email to the course manager, Fernando Padron but haven’t received a response to my request for a refund on those two buggies. Perhaps YGT can help?

This course was good compared to the other two and in good condition , again miscommunication we thought we were on the links course and not the cheaper one again although this course was great it was tough to play as there a 25mile an hour wind to deal with but we did enjoy it

The course was ok but there was a lot of worm cast on fairways which created a lot of mud .They had obviously had a lot of rain before we arrived as buggy’s were not allowed onto fairways which is always a pain for club selection

This course is spectacular with views down the coast to the Rock and Morocco beyond. The greens are incredible: so fast and borrows that you see only after the ball starts rolling. Play it more than once!
