Despite only opening in 2003, La Reserva Golf Club is already considered to be among Andalucia's elite golfing destinations.

The course is situated in the prestigious Sotogrande estate, 25 mins from Gilbraltar Airport and 90 mins from Malaga Airport, and is an idyllic parkland resort layout. The American golf architect Cabell B. Robinson carved the golf course into the hillside creating stunning views out over the Mediterranean Sea and the Andalusian hills.

The championship layout consists of expansive fairways leading to large undulating greens accompanied by multiple water hazards, La Reserva's quality is considered to be on a par with its neighbour Valderrama and is a must-play for any golfer visiting Southern Spain.

La Reserva Golf Club

La Reserva was designed by the American, Cabell B. Robinson, who is responsible for a number of renowned projects along the Andalucian coast, including La Cala and Alcaidesa Links.

The course measures over 6,700 metres from the championship markers and is a severe test of golf, but like most good modern resort courses, the wide variety of tees ensures that golfers of every calibre are suitably accommodated for.

La Reserva is characterised by its generous fairways and its massive, undulating greens, which are protected by vast swathes of stunning white sand. With stunning views of the mountains and the amazing Mediterranean coastline, it is no surprise that La Reserva is held in such high regard.

La Reserva is ranked as one of the best courses in Spain

Many of us have played the course before and always enjoy the challenge. However, the weather was cold, windy and intermittently wet, which made us very difficult. Overall a top day and great fun.

Not my absolute favourite course in this region but still very good by any normal standards. Fairways a bit wet in places but overall a tough and fair test of golf. Some very tricky tee shots.
