Wallasey Golf Club

First conceived by St. Andrews legend Old Tom Morris, the golf course at Wallasey has since been reworked by Hawtree, James Braid and most recently the links golf guru Donald Steel.

The club was founded by members from Hoylake, whose own course was becoming overcrowded, and the links to Royal Liverpool do not end there; in 1930, when the legendary Bobby Jones won the Open Championship at Hoylake, he qualified at Wallasey, and whilst there, he posed for a portrait by local member J.A.A. Berrie which still hangs proudly in the clubhouse.

With easy access from Wirral to the other local courses and to Southport, Wallasey is well worth the visit. Bobby Jones was awarded life membership in 1931 in recognition for his contribution to golf, and his ties with the club itself.

After your round the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the clubhouse awaits. Visitors often praise the helpful and friendly staff who contribute to a superb overall experience. It's the perfect place to relax unwind and reflect on your game. Whether you're enjoying a post-round drink or a hearty meal the clubhouse provides a comfortable setting to soak in the club's incredible heritage and share stories of your day on the links.
