The Manor Course, as it is now known, has seen a vast transformation in recent years when management wisely turned to Ross McMurray of European Golf Design, a highly regarded architect who was also commissioned to oversee improvements at Woburn, and the 2010 Ryder Cup venue in Wales, the Celtic Manor Resort.
The resultant 6,547 yards Championship Course, which is now regarded as one of the Norfolk's best courses, and have already hosted the PGA Europro players events. The challenge at the 7th, the Manor's signature hole, is to avoid the water that skirts the fairway.
The excellent putting surfaces are constructed in line with USGA principles, ensuring superb condition and adding to the terrific outcome. The golf course is ably assisted by Sprowston Manor's fantastic new practice facility, complete with a 26-bay floodlit range, which also incorporates the latest GASP tuition technology and the expertise of no less than 3 PGA professionals, all reputed for their superb tuition.

Have stayed and used this for a golf break several times. The course was lovely except for remedial work on the greens which made them fairly difficult to play. The room was fine and offered a nice view of the course. Unfortunately the heating was on and despite my best efforts to turn off and opening both windows it remained like an oven. There was under floor heating in bathroom too so no escape! Dinner was definitely not up to the usual standard and the menu was limited unless you paid extra. My husband paid a £5 supplement for a cod meal which definitely wasn’t worth the extra. The cod was fine albeit small but the accompanying parts were tasteless and not edible. I chose from the menu without extra payment and had a carb filled chicken kebab which wasn’t too exciting a not very tasty. A shame as previously the food had been excellent. Breakfast was fine and a good selection.

Rooms clean and comfortable. Meals in restaurant offered good choice of meals and included 3 courses. All meals very nice. Disappointed that the golf club house closed each day at 4pm. Would be nice to be separate from the hotel guests who may not appreciate our enthusiasm after a poor or good round of golf. Hotel bar was fine regardless.

We had a great time away, but found the hotel a bit tired, had visited before when it was a Marriott and was great. The club house on arrival had little food and on bitter filter coffee available as the machine wasn’t working so we headed to the main hotel bar to see if we could get a bite to eat and the bar area was closed so no tea’s or coffees available and no food so we all headed out to a nearby McDonalds. The food for the evening meal was OK but just average. Value wise it was OK for what we paid but just found the facilities a bit lacking and tired. Service through booking via Your Golf Travel was great and couldn’t have been more helpful, polite and informative!

Lovely hotel with helpful staff. Room was comfortable and clean but unbearably hot even with the windows open. Dinner was an experience as it took three hours for a three course meal! Food was very good but the inexperienced, young staff were overwhelmed - thank goodness it wasn't busy.

Unfortunately the quality of food was poor. Chicken undercooked (bloody !! ) and had to be sent back. Main course overcooked and dry, overall a very disappointing evening meal. Pillows were far too hard, awful. Management seemed to know this.

Small but adequate room in old part of hotel. Was very windy so got rattle windows. Was a bit chilly so used the heater which was in room to make cozy. Tea, coffee and biscuits in room as well as toiletries so all good. Dinner excellent and several choices. Included 3 generous courses. Breakfast was good. My husband found the cooked breakfast a little in cool side as had been there a while but that’s only slight downside. He asked for freshly cooked eggs and they produced then quickly and without a fuss. Pleasant and happy staff.

Nice round and a good selection of well placed bunkers and tricky areas

Well kept, particularly soon after several weeks of appalling weather. Greens had obviously been spiked for drainage and did affect the roll of the ball but with my putting it was good to have an excuse for missing. Well placed bunkers for a mid distance drive off the tee caught me out far too many times . All in all, a nice course, well maintained and offered some good challenges. I would book here again.

The course wasn’t in to bad of condition for the time of year, we just found it very slow with the amount of people out. The Monday was particularly slow with having to wait at most tees. There was plenty of time between tee times so just down to slow play mainly from the groups ahead.

Golf course in excellent condition bearing in mind the heavy rain in the few days before our trip. The clubhouse is a bit outdated

Enjoyable course with some great risk and reward holes. Fairways showed the effects of a dry summer but were in pretty decent condition. The greens were true and rolled well even when saturated following a cloudburst. The bunkers however, were a disappointment - too much sand in many of them and footmarks and holes from inconsiderate golfers didn't help

After an incredible and dry summer the course was really pretty good. It was full but moved. It’s very popular. Some tricky holes and we had fun and enjoyed the round
