Quinta da Ria

With the sea on one side, and the mountains towering on the other, Quinta da Ria's setting is awesome, and the golf course lives up to its billing too. The 6,579 yard layout is built around the five man-made lakes that are the focal point of the landscape, which also provide the course's irrigation.

More than 300 trees have been planted around the course, and there is a restriction on construction, ensuring that the integrity of the environment remains intact. The signature holes are undoubtedly the 16th and 17th, which are carved through the lakes, and can either make or break your round.

These outstanding holes and the stunning surroundings help to explain why Quinta da Ria has become a mainstay of a golf holiday around the Eastern area of the sunny Algarve.

The best course we played during our stay. Greens were a little slow but overall course was in very good condition. Club house and pro shop are not very big and have limited supplies. Hospitality at both the club house and pro shop was very good.

Great course for holiday golf, good course conditioning and lovely views esp. on back nine as well as interesting holes to play. Very positive impression of this course, and will recommend to friends. Noticeable distance separation between white/yellow and blue/red tees. There is a slightly awkward arrival set up - you have to walk down to clubhouse (it's set lower down so course views are limited) to get the buggy token to then come back up to the drive to the buggy but with a fairly loose set up for leaving clubs safely: what is the right approach if don't want to carry clubs everywhere? Friendly staff.

Little less water the Cima, very very slow round, spoilt the day, no ranger, hackers from the Robinson Hotel learning to play golf.

The course should’ve been closed due to the extreme weather conditions, but of course they won’t do that because they want to keep your money… Buggies where not allowed even though if you kept them on the path, which we promised we would do, would have made less damage to the course then the electric trolleys, which were allowed, so it made no sense , on some of them the battery died halfway through the round… After one of the rounds one of the managers kindly offered us a drink on the house , we asked if they had some olives or nuts that you normally get everywhere as an accompaniment so they brought us some Pringle and then tried to charge us for them The changing room was small and smelly Staff was dismissive and uncaring Don’t think we’ll be back
