The course at North Shore is not a pure links because parts of it are parkland in style, but it is beautifully maintained and a very enjoyable challenge to play in any weather. The par-71, 6214-yard course is laid out over two loops, allowing the option of a quick nine holes in the evening if you so desire.
It was designed by the legendary course architect, James Braid, who won the Open Championship five times between 1901 and 1910. He transformed a piece of exposed coastline and lush tree lined parkland into a very memorable golf course and, like all good seaside course designers, took into account the prevailing easterly wind - which can cause even the best players a headache - when laying out the course.
North Shore also boasts a short game practice area and a putting green, and buggies are also available to hire from the pro shop.
The North Shore Hotel and Golf Club enjoys an unrivalled position, enjoying views across the Wash to the Norfolk coast, not to mention some fabulous vistas over the golf course. A warm and traditional welcome is on offer here for the travelling golfer. Lots of dark wood and soft, comfortable seating makes the hotel a very inviting place to be, and the restaurant serves up excellent English fare cooked with locally sourced ingredients - the Sunday carvery is particularly popular among guests. The James Braid bar is open all day every day, offering bar snacks and a wide range of real ales and lager - an ideal place to relax and enjoy those concentrating on the greens outside.
There are 36 bedrooms in all, comprising singles, twins, doubles, triples and a quad. All rooms are en-suite with TV, direct line telephone, tea and coffee facilities. Most have spectacular views of the golf course and sea. The Residents Lounge is equipped with satellite TV so that you do not miss out on those favourite sporting events.
There is ample parking for 100 cars and the hotel is ideally situated for those wishing to enjoy the nightlife in Skegness, which is only a very short taxi ride or drive away.

We played two rounds and were not rushed on both occasions. The course was enjoyable with varying holes and suited players of all handicaps. My only Cristian was some fairways were a little worn but that didn’t affect our overall view that this is a nice place to go and play

This is a fantastic course with a bit of everything. The links' hole fairways are really scorched, but that's the way it goes when it's been so dry. The greens are very receptive, lovely, and green and run quickly. It's always a pleasure to play here.

Fabulous two days golf enjoyed by all 20 of our group. We were blessed with good weather apart from winds but expected on the coast. Greens and fairways all in good condition, apart from forking and grooves showing on some greens, but didn't deter from great two days had by all.

course was great really difficult on second day when wind got up lots of OB so need to be careful on some tee shots when wind is blowing that way the 17th green is a test with so many slopes but fun overall a great course just a shame there is no driving range all though there is a net and small chipping area
