Golfers looking for a challenge, the South Course at La Manga Club is the perfect choice. Originally designed by Robert Putman and modified by Arnold Palmer, this course underwent a complete refurbishment in 2004, adding water hazards, tree plantations, and green alterations.
With wide fairways, strategically positioned bunkers, and plenty of water hazards, this course is sure to test even the most experienced players. The front nine is particularly tough, with long par-3s and tricky par-4s that require accurate driving between lakes and bunkers.
For a truly unforgettable golfing experience, stay at either the Grand Hyatt La Manga Club & Resort or the Las Lomas Village. Both options offer comfortable accommodations and easy access to the West Course.

The South Course is widely regarded as Real Golf La Manga Club's premier layout, and frequently hosts prestigious regional and national events, including the Spanish Open and European Tour Qualifying School. Originally designed by Robert Putman prior to opening in 1971, the South was reworked by the great Arnold Palmer in the early 1990s, and was sharpened up in 2004. As a result, this is now a fair but thoroughly exacting test of golf.
At just over 7100 yards, the course certainly provides the sternest test of golf from the three courses, and lives up to its championship status. Whilst requiring some solid hitting, golfers should beware of the countless water hazards and bunkering throughout the course. The front nine is the tougher, and contains two particularly challenging par 3s, both over 220 yards, as well as a 6th hole containing a blind tee shot onto a expansive and downhill fairway. However, there are still birdie chances on these long holes. The back nine, although less difficult, has many dog-legged holes and is home to one of the largest sand traps in Spain, running almost the whole length on the right hand side fairway on the par four 14th. Avoiding strategically positioned water hazards and bunkers is crucial around this par-73 cracker.
Signature Hole - No. 18: Par 5, 452 yards (White Tees)
The closing hole is unforgiving. Drives must be hit around a fairway bunker and two large bunkers which flank both sides of the fairway. The green, although large is very well protected and its multi-tiered nature requires a confident putt.

Fantastic enjoyable layout. Difficult long par 3s and long par 5s if I remember rightly. Greens had just been aerated (or whatever its called) so were average. Most fun of the 3 courses. Again lack of toilets on the course (not even near 1st and 10th) and the one I did find, I wish I hadn’t. Same as the other courses, you need a course planner (if you dont have a gps, range finder etc).

Flatter than north but longer. Tricky is you struggle with length as there is water and well protected greens. Generally very good condition. Pace of play can be an issue at times.

We have previously seen the course in better overall condition. We were advised that a change of ownership took place last year and the new owners are in the process of bringing the course (s) back to there former glory. While we were happy overall we are very disappointed with your customer service. Unfortunately I got heatstroke and we didn’t play one of our games. We advised the club in case someone else could take our tee time. Some confusion happened and the club said they could not give us a refund as you had made the booking. They suggested we should contact you on our return and ask for a refund on our behalf. This we did but no feedback. Phoned again and told no response fromLa Manga apology and will chase and let us know. Again we have heard NOTHING. We returned on 17th September and got in touch 22/23 we are now 5th November and nothing not a very good advert for your customer service
