East Brighton Golf Club, East Sussex, England

East Brighton is an extremely welcoming members club offering fantastic golf. You can't be but impressed as you walk the 100 year old fairways and take in the impressive views of the coastland and surrounding downland. The course has changed little in all those years and The James Braid design is one of the best in Sussex. Built upon chalkland, the golf course drains remarkably well, which ensures that this East Sussex gem is enjoyable all year round.

The clubhouse itself is worth the visit. Still the original build, the 19th bar is a warming oak paneled room with an open and local ales. Perfect for a drink after your round.

It is so close to Brighton that any Brighton Tour should have this in the itinerary.

East Brighton Golf Club

The golf course itself stretches to 6,346 yards, and is a fair test with a par of 72. The rolling parkland is infused with some terrific holes and more than a view vantage points – the 12th tee is the star of the show, presenting magnificent views of the English Channel.

East Brighton was designed by James braid and golf was first played on this site back in 1893. The design is almost identical now to the original 18 hole layout and is a varied yet enjoyable challenge, and one which can be enjoyed by players of all abilities. The course reflects the laid back and relaxed atmosphere of Brighton itself, which is why it is perfect for a golf tour on the south coast.
