Duddingston Golf Club

Established in 1895, Duddingston Golf Club is one of the best parkland courses in the Lothians. The design of the course makes it challenging as it is set in the Shadow of Arthurs Seat with the meandering Brain Burn, one of the main hazards.

Located just 10 minutes from Edinburgh it is a great option when basing your golf break in the city, offering lively nights combined with the tranquil setting of the golf course.

Duddingston Golf Course

Duddingston, which means 'sunny side of the hill' in Gaelic, is a gently undulating parkland course, maintained to a high standard throughout the year. The original layout was designed by Willie Park in 1895 with amendments added in the 1960's-70's by John Shade and Bill Biggar that included a new tee on the 12th hole.

The course stands at 6,466 yards today, offering a stern test to golfers of all abilities having hosted a number of national professional and amateur events. Duddingston Golf Club will always be associated with Ronnie Shade, who won the Scottish Amateur Championship five years in a row, played in the Walker Cup four times and finished leading individual in the Eisenhower Trophy in 1966, Ronnie was was awarded an MBE for services to golf in 1967 aged just 28.
